Tax Prep Volunteers Needed

AARP TaxAide is a program that provides free tax preparation. The focus is on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. 

Last year TaxAide prepared 2,243 tax returns in Pierce County and unfortunately were not able to prepare returns for everyone that has a need.  The reason?  There are not enough volunteer tax preparers.  Currently there are only 6 sites in Pierce County, one in Tacoma and the other 5 are in the Puyallup, Buckley, and Milton areas.  They are unable to open additional sites in other areas of Pierce County because of the lack of volunteers to both prepare taxes and run those sites.
