Note: We are sorry to announce that due to decisions made by the City of Tacoma, Beacon Senior Center will close December 31, 2024.  Lighthouse Senior Center will stay open until January 31, 2025, but will only be providing lunch meals.

Gingerbread Houses 

Get into the holiday spirit by making your own gingerbread house with instructor Kathy Weaver on Friday, December 13, at 1 p.m. Cost $5.

 

Safe Driving Class 

The Washington Traffic Safety Education Association will offer another safe driver course Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost $20. 

 

Chess Class 

Would you like to learn to play chess or want to challenge another amateur player? Join us Monday, December 9, at 12:30 p.m. 

 

Ukelele Performance 

Ed Valentine will lead a group of ukelele players in holiday selections Monday, December 16, at 1 p.m. 

 

Aging in Place 

Learn about the differences between in-home care, home health, and hospice. The Washington chapter of the National Aging-in-Place Council hosts a workshop Thursday, December 5, at 1:30 p.m. 

 

Shared Housing 

On Monday, December 9, at 1 p.m., Associated Ministries will explain their Adult Home Sharing Program, a way to connect extra rooms with people seeking affordable housing.

Celebrate all those with birthdays are in December at our monthly Birthday Dance!  With music, dancing, and refreshments for all to enjoy! 

 

Make Your Own Holiday Wreath 

Wednesday December 4th at 1:00pm 

Would you like to make a Holiday Wreath?  Come join Vicki and make an awesome wreath for your holiday decor .

Just a friendly reminder that The Lighthouse Activity Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday the 25th. We will resume normal business hours on Thursday the 26th of December. 

We will also be closing early at 1:30 on Thursday the12th. 

Our calendar is packed full of our regular program activities this month as well as a couple of special events.

Our Puget Sounds band will feature holiday favorites as well as the regular selection of songs. 

 

Holiday Celebration Dinner and Ukulele Players 

Wednesday, December 18th Dinner is at 12:00pm and the Ukulele players will begin at 1:00pm. Don’t miss our last big celebration of the year!
