This year’s Feast & Fireworks celebration was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness, community, and shared joy. On behalf of Franke Tobey Jones, Shelley and Nicole from the Department of Philanthropy loaded up the truck—twice!—to deliver 100 festive meal bags to the Pt. Defiance~Ruston Senior Center.
With the help of our dedicated resident volunteers, each bag was carefully assembled and filled with Fourth of July favorites like hot dogs, all the fixings, and patriotic goodies to take home and enjoy over the holiday.
When we arrived, the Tacoma Banjo Club was tuning up, ready to fill the room with cheerful Americana music. Senior Center guests gathered to enjoy the tunes and a delicious lunch of sandwiches—a special surprise made possible by the generosity of FTJ’s resident donors.
As we handed out the meal bags, we were met with warm smiles and heartfelt gratitude from our senior center friends. It was a joyful, meaningful afternoon that brought people together in celebration.
Thank you to everyone who gave, volunteered, and shared in making this event such a success. Your compassion truly reflects the heart of the FTJ community.
