Featured Apartment of the Month: Memory #3 and #16
Our Memory Care is a safe, engaging, beautiful community with gathering areas, outside courtyards for relaxing and gardening, dining room and a large activity space.
- Memory care #3 is a private suite with a private bath. The monthly rate is $8,145 plus the level of care fee that is either $2,620, $3,700 or $5,150 per month.
- Memory Care #16 is a private suite with a shared bath with one other suite. The monthly rate is $6,205 plus level of care fee that is either $2,620, $3,700 or $5,150 per month.
FTJ Memory Care specializes in seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. Our unique approach to memory care features a small group of residents who live together in a home-like setting with secured outside courtyards, many gathering spaces, 24 hour supervision and support. Each resident is placed in a level of care depending on their needs. It is not necessary to already live at FTJ first to admit to our Memory Care.
Award Winning Montessori-Inspired Memory Care Programming
Starting in late 2022, Franke Tobey Jones embarked on a brand new way of engaging with residents in our Memory Care. While Montessori is most often connected to learning for children, Montessori for dementia has been shown to be extremely effective in allowing the person with dementia to reconnect to a world they are losing access to. Through sensory experiences and hands-on programing, those who have dementia are better able to reconnect with pleasant events and memories of the past and experience the positive emotions of remembered events. Memory Care Suites Feature
- Large private suite with private bathroom/shower
- Multiple large gathering areas
- Private, secure outside courtyards
- Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, activity professionals and nursing assistants, each day is guided by our 24 hour staff, and daily routine is structured to maximize quality of life for each resident
- A licensed nurse is available to administer medications and assist with emergencies
- Program includes assistance with activities of daily living including medications, bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure that needs are met
- A variety of meaningful activities including Montessori–inspired programming designed to enhance residents’ strengths while bringing enjoyment to their days
- Residents can enjoy quiet times with other residents and staff in various indoor and outdoor community spaces
Memory Care Suites Include
- Three delicious meals a day served family-style in the Memory Care dining room
- Weekly housekeeping: bed linens and towels are laundered and supplied weekly, and a laundry room is available for personal use. FTJ can also launder personal clothes for a fee.
- Transportation to medical appointments five days a week (an escort is needed)
- Utilities include local phone service
Unique Memory Care Doors
Heidi White, Director of Life Enrichment had a special wish for a long time. She had learned about a company in the Netherlands that specialized in making decal front doors to help people with dementia to feel more at home in long-term care. “If we could apply these full door decals to the front of our Memory Care rooms, FTJ residents could recognize and find their own personal doors, and it would also increase privacy and a sense of safety,” she said. Together with Philanthropy, she shared her idea with two very receptive and generous individuals and within minutes, she had the green light to contact families of Memory Care residents with the news they could select decals that resembled the home doors of their loved ones.
“It was amazing!”, said Heidi. “In just a few months, our hallways were transformed with vibrant and beautiful front doors, reflective of where each person had lived.”
Upon seeing the results of their gift, these special donors commented, “We were very pleased and excited to fund this project. With everyone having their own unique ‘front door’ leading to their rooms, Memory Care looks even more welcoming. The residents are noticing and enjoying their personal entrances, and it’s fun for us to see the difference we can make.”

“My mom was a resident of Franke Tobey Jones for the last 9 years, first in assisted living and then in memory care. The facility and campus are great, but it is the staff that really makes FTJ exceptional. The CNA’s, activity personnel and nurses treated my mom with kindness and compassion from the very beginning, and became her extended family in her new home. When I would visit, my mom always had a smile on her face, and would say “I really like it here!” The nursing staff was so thoughtful and competent in caring for my mom at the end of her life, and also extended support and empathy to me and my sister, which we greatly appreciated. FTJ is the best, and I can’t say enough good things about it!”
