The Intrepid Victorian Traveler  
In this five-costume program, Tames Alan presents a look into the clothing and lifestyle of a Victorian woman during the mid-1850s through the early 1860s. She discusses travel through the day, travel through society, and travel in general, which really opened up in the 19th century. Irish Traditional Music for the Holidays  
An hour of fiddle music and conversation highlighting the approach of the holidays with reels, jigs, and hornpipes. Also, some transcribed Celtic harp music played on the open-tuned guitar.

Senior University

Senior University at Franke Tobey Jones provides a wealth of lifelong learning programs for people 55 or better, for both campus residents and seniors in the surrounding community. This educational and cultural program designed for seniors is unique to Pierce County. Senior University offers the opportunity to build skills, explore new subjects and enjoy the learning process with others.   Lecturers and instructors are experts in their fields hailing from local colleges and universities, businesses, not-for-profits and cultural organizations, along with others who have retired with rich career experiences. Most classes are offered free of charge as a public service to the Tacoma-Pierce County community.
