Welcome to ‘The Gentlemen’s Nook’, a monthly men’s group designed to inspire connection, curiosity and a sense of fun. This group is all about exploring new ideas and shared experiences- whether through conversation, creativity, movement or play.

Land Snorkeling
Thursday, September 18
10am
Meet outside the Bistro
Join us for a refreshing walk as we practice land snorkeling- the art of slowing down and noticing the beauty around us with curiosity and wonder. Just like snorkeling through a reef, but on land. This mindful walk invites you to explore your surroundings with fresh eyes, paying attention to colors, textures, patterns and tiny details often overlooked. No flippers needed, just a sense of presence and adventure! You must be able to walk independently without staff assistance.

Restorative Yoga & Live Cello
Made possible by a generous donation to the Holistic Wellness Program
Tuesday, September 30
2pm
FTJ Wellness Center
Enjoy a calming and restorative yoga workshop with live cello & singing by Karen Laura Peters. This workshop will begin with gentle movements to ease into the practice. Then we will build about 7 restorative yoga poses and rest in them for 5 to 10 minutes each. The restorative poses will be accompanied by live cello and singing.

Holistic Wellness Program

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease." ~ World Health Organization

FTJ has an exciting and innovative opportunity to bring awareness to holistic wellbeing! Holistic Wellness addresses our body as a whole. This approach is key to longevity and maintaining independence as we age. Our unique program focuses on mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, vocational and social/cultural wellbeing.

Programs offered through Holistic Wellness are provided by contractors, specialist, organizations and people from the Tacoma Community as well as wellness community members and residents who have a skill, talent, knowledge or expertise they want to share. These passionate people are invited to share their knowledge on a wide array of holistic health and wellness topics.

Participation is limited to FTJ residents and Wellness members. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Sarah Doerner at 253-756-3241 or at sdoerner@franketobeyjones.com. For the monthly class calendar go to https://www.franketobeyjones.com/community/events/program-calendars/.
