St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Senior Center

To commemorate St. Patrick’s Day, a lively and festive Celtic celebration was recently held for the Pt. Defiance ~ Ruston Senior Center participants.

Decorative snacks and refreshments were served while many took part in a Line Dancing class led by Maryanne Ellis.

Even furry, four legged friends joined in on the fun ~ Kevin the dachshund sat with his friend O’Bruni, while Lucy decided to join the dancers!

“This was a great day,” said Director Kate Gray.  “Everyone had a wonderful time, and it was so nice to see people taking part in the line dancing for the first time.

For those who opted not to dance, they gathered in the dining room, shared stories, and made new friendships – it was definitely a day of lucky charms and something for everyone!”

One participant enthusiastically added, “I love the Senior Center so much, I come here five days a week!”

Monday through Friday the Pt. Defiance ~ Ruston Senior Center offers a full calendar of exercise and education classes, activities, entertainment, and most of all, comradery.  The Senior Center is also a Catholic Community Services meal site, offering hot, nutritious meals Monday through Thursday for a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 and above.  If you would like more information, please contact the Senior Center at 253.756.0601
